The company was founded in 1896, by Mr. Demetrio Rontani, when he set up a little artisan workshop for the production of wooden clogs, in an olive oil mill.

1932 saw the opening of their first factory named APICE. This new business manufactured tennis shoes and Gumboots in natural rubber. Thanks to the excellent quality and the good value of the products, APICE immediately gained dominance in the domestic market.

In 1998, with the incorporation of the firm Nora, Gustavo Rontani (Mr Demetrio’s nephew) founded a commercial company, RONTANI GmbH, in the town of Kleve – Germany. When in 2008 the company together with its German subsidiary became part of SPIRALE Italia Group and changed its name to NORA ITALIA S.r.l.

The innovation has continued with the development of high quality polyurethane professional work boots.

Today Nora Italia has an annual production capacity of approximately two million pairs, from its main facility; a 25.000 square meter headquarters in Monsagrati, Lucca – Italy, which houses offices and production workrooms with five injection machines
